I think that the book “My Freshman Year: What a Professor Learned by Becoming a Student” written by Dr. Rebekah Nathan is very interesting and I am interested in knowing how her complete year went. The passage I read had many similarities in what I experience as a student at Bloomsburg from her welcome week and moving in to her seeing the different ways students spend there free time.

I like that instead of drawing her own outside conclusions, like many do about college students like many do, she decided to conduct her own research by stepping into a students shoes and becoming a college freshman herself. Although she went to the college to be a student she still conducted her research not from her own experience but also from students she came into contact with which was able to show the variety of ways people experience college.

When Dr. Nathan was writing about the ways students spend their time I found the same trends in the time diaries I had done and that students often have groups they are apart of outside of class and many students spend part of their free time doing some sort of physical activities and the similarities I found with these chapters were very interesting to me because even the research was done nearly ten years ago some of the date has stayed the same.
